Road to Middle UPDATED VERSION 31.12.2009 (bushes fixed)
by SeriousToni

Description:
Map for 2 to 4 players which is symmetrical (but natural) and fair.
Open grass planes divided by roads which lead to the centre.

I would like to contribute my first map for the mod. In the past I was building some C&C 1 Single Player Missions. Now I played around with the Tiberian Sun Editor and that's what came out. Have fun Smile

Detail-wise this map looks pretty nice, aside from the fact you used bushes (which are all intended for desert maps) on a temperate map, which causes them to use a wrong palette.
Gameplay-wise, this map is possibly a bit small and the amount of tiberium may be a bit much, but I imagine it would allow some some good constant-action games Laughing out loud

Thanks for the hint, I didn't realize that. But now I made an updated version in which the bushes are deleted.
You can download it in the first post of mine.

There are 68000 funds in this map, which makes 17000 for each player.
I don't believe that that's too much.
I like the map because it's not a long way and each player has a save place to earn money in the start. Later the players must go harvest in the centre which is the spice in the mission because there're a lot of fights about the money in the middle.

Thanks for your testing, I really appreciate your opinion! Smile

While it has good detailing, I can't avoid seeing that the map is small and symmetric. In my opinion, the players are too close for a having any kind of long fight. The symmetry also would make the map dull to play. On the contrary, however, this map could bring some rapid lower tech fights with constant action. Party

Thank you for making the map Tongue

Anyway, we thought that Crossroads sounded better than Road to Middle, and indeed enhanced it with all the new terrain and detailing options made for 1.11. About the map itself, it's great for having short games with the players being close to eachother. In my opinion there's nothing wrong with small maps as long as the players aren't exactly right next to eachother; maps don't always have to be 200x200 to be fun.

Yeah that sounds better indeed Laughing out loud My english isn't the best.

It was intended to make a small but action-packed map. We played it on LAN and it was fun as you can put your enemies under pressure.

Have fun, people!

EDIT: Whow! Nearly two years past? Can't believe how time goes by..
