Hey Forum!
The first where I saw, that C&C 95 Engine is still alive, I used to play it where I was 5-7 years old , though about giving it a chance to play again!
Sadly, the Singleplayer missions crashes upon the first gameplay minutes.
I don't know what acually corrupts within the game.
I installed the game on the usual way:
downloading it here, executing it as an admin, patching was successfully (first time without the admin rights, it failed - so this problem won't happen again!), starting up works, just the game crashes after 5 mins ingame ...
Any suggestions?
PS: Tried it aswell with Comp-Mode WIN 95, 97, NT (failes to start the launcher!), XP / XP SP1/SP2.
I think, Vista compatibility isn't necessary.
OS: Win 7 U 64x
Dual 2 Duo 2GHz
Memory: 4GB RAM
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9650M GT
I think, the sys-reqs are more than fullfilled as its necessary.
Thanks in adv.!

It only looks similar to the TD engine because we're using the same graphics =P
But engine discussing aside.. Play the game until it crashes, in skirmish. Once it has crashed, come to this topic and upload the following files as attachments from your DTA directory to this topic (do that right away after the game has crashed, do not start the game again after the crash before you've uploaded the logfiles):
- "launcher.log"
- "DTA.log"
- "except.txt" (if this one exists, tell us if it doesn't)
Note that depending on your Windows settings, the file extensions (.log and .txt) might be missing from the filenames.
Once you've uploaded those files here, we can take a look and see if we can find out something that's wrong.

The "except.txt" is just missing, the others seems to be already created.
How to solve that now?
Wanted those 2 files now?

From what I can tell you built a structure right before the game crashed. Could you tell me what structure you built and whether the game always crashes after building this specific structure?

Could also be the AI placing structures I guess. I'm afraid I don't have any ideas about the specific cause though, maybe you could try shutting down all kinds of background processes before playing.

At the first mission, where you are just focusing the location of the GDI base, it also crashes (tried it 2 times - once without "finding" it and once within discovered it already. So, I don't build anything, and the AI also (I guess, it has a prebuilt NOD-Base(?*)) ... still crashing.

Try ending all kinds of background processes before playing, especially programs that could draw things on the screen while DTA is running in fullscreen mode (such as Fraps and all kinds of FPS counters).
Another thing you could try is running DTA in Windowed mode.
If these don't do anything, your only option might unfortunately be using a different computer for playing DTA, if one is available. You could also try a reinstall in case some files have got corrupted, the Launcher doesn't check for file corruption (..yet).

I tried to disable anything from the processing list, and yea, it was FRAPS which was causing the problem!
Teh bad thingy is teh FRAPS
Thanks!

Could've told you that if I knew you were running it
More specifically, it's the FPS counter which FRAPS displays in the corner of the screen that causes the game to crash. That aside, recording with FRAPS causes will show a lot of lag in the recordings when you play with high resolutions, so you're better off using Camtasia Studio if you intend to record something from DTA (or TS).

Firstly, it's DTA, not C&C95, and we're using the Tiberian Sun engine
No compatibility options are required, DTA runs on anything from Windows XP to Windows 7 (most likely on Windows 8 aswell). System requirements are the same as with TS -- basically any computer from this millenium should be able to run DTA.
Do skirmish games work for you? I've heard some reports of the campaign missions freezing before, but I've personally never encountered that issue (and as the creator of the campaign I've played it quite a few times). If skirmish / multiplayer games don't work, it'd show that it's an issue with something else than the campaign.
