Hello again. In my own mods, I have noticed that there are in fact paratroopers in Tiberian Sun (well, sort of). If you give a helicopter that can carry infantry a weapon, and load infantry into it, the helicopter will drop the infantry as paratroopers before it starts attacking its target. Any chance of implementing this in DTA (like a unique air-based infantry transport)? It offers some special tactical opportunities. Tongue
Using this, you might also be able to make a paratrooper special weapon.

PS: How I did it:
All I had to do was make a copy of the Harpy and make it carry infantry, and discovered the paratroopers.

Yeah, I know about this feature, but there's no way to use it in a special weapon (so this can't be used to get a paradrop SW to work).
I did consider having a paradrop unit at first (for Nod) and initially didn't implement it because I didn't have a voxel for it. On second thought however, even if I had a voxel, it might not be worth the flaws that come with it... The main problem is that whenever you load infantry onto an aircraft that has a weapon, the aircraft will refuse to land wherever you send it; instead when it gets there, it'll return to base and it'll land next to one of your buildings... unless you're unless you're unlucky (then it'll unsuccessfully keep trying to land on top of your buildings until the game ends).
